Frank Lee, M.D.
Dr.Lee is a board certified specialist in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine recognized by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr.Lee graduated with honors, summa cum laude, from Vanderbilt University. He was one of five undergraduate students selected to the early admissions program at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. During medical school, he was selected by the United States Department of State as a Fulbright Scholar to Spain to study immigrant health disparities. After a year as a Fulbright scholar, he was selected as a Vanderbilt Medical Scholar to continue his knowledge of public health and epidemiology in Peru.
His passion for research continued throughout his training in anesthesiology and pain medicine at The Johns Hopkins Hospital where he completed both his residency and fellowship. Dr.Lee published multiple peer-reviewed articles in distinguished journals as the first author in wide variety of topics in pain medicine. He has been recognized as an avid educator with the reception of Teacher of the Year award and also the prestigious Traveling Fellowship Award by the Society for Education in Anesthesia. Dr.Lee has lectured and taught physicians in the United States, South Korea, and Peru.
At the Blaustein pain clinic at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr.Lee was instrumental in establishing ultrasound guided therapies and has lectured on regenerative medicine to physicians across Maryland and Washington DC. By combining the latest evidence based therapy options like steroid based spine injections and platelet rich plasma injections, Dr.Lee is one of few physicians who excels in techniques from multiple fields of medicine and can apply it to your care.
He enjoys working on public health projects related to internet technology and patient advocacy. Dr.Lee has given talks regarding the opioid abuse epidemic at Stanford University and was invited to the White House to participate in the "Precision Medicine Initiative" by the Obama Administration.
He has been selected as Top Doctor 2018 and 2019 by his peers in the Washingtonian Magazine.
